There is no try, only (allow, persist) and do
Trying begets grasping
When we think we need to try, we sometimes try too hard, in an attempt to grasp something, understand it intellectually or ‘get it right’, all of which can obstruct the flow or process.
"…when you try, you operate from your mind. Let yourself shift into a different mode of consciousness, and allow ’something else’ to happen. … Grasping is the nature of the mind" Samuel Sagan in Awakening the Third Eye
This is also true in Matrix Energetics, where many people have more success when they use it casually rather than try to get it right.
"The moment you stop thinking, you become one with the object of your thought. You are entangled from a quantum perspective and that is when the shift occurs. When this event takes place, note it unconsciously. Allow yourself to be surprised, delighted and empowered all at the same time. Congratulations! You have just expanded the mind’s window and taken a giant step into a larger world of possibility." Richard Bartlett in Matrix Energetics, P120
Persist without grasping
To become more effective at Matrix (or anything) we have to keep playing, learning and increasing our awareness. While ‘letting go and letting God’ we also have to keep turning up and paying attention with a gentle focus.
Similarly with other skills. Although my Chi Gung teacher, Zhixing Wang said that he taught everything he knew in every single session, I’m not aware of anyone who learnt that quickly. Over the months and years, however, everyone learnt more quickly, benefiting from the advances of the group or, in Rupert Sheldrake’s terms, the morphic field the group built up.
"Wholeness is not invoked by the search for one-shot solutions. the search for specialised answers to complex situations yields very little benefit. A never ending pursuit of greater wholeness is the answer to ascending the levels of your life." Jesus in Love Without End by Glenda Green P217.
Do what’s needed
Another aspect of trying is that, rather than do what is needed, we sometimes do what is relatively easy for us in the hope that it will work. For example, many people who want a partner put an advert on an internet dating site or make some other half hearted attempt, rather than do whatever it takes (like contacting or meeting lots of potentially suitable people).
In "Love Without End" Jesus tells Glenda Green that Moses kept the Hebrews in the desert for forty years because "It was necessary for them to pass through two generations and to acquire a whole new rank of elders who knew nothing of slavery. Only a free people could build a new nation."
Had Moses put the 40 year wait to the vote, he might well have lost! He didn’t try to build a new nation, he did what was needed, doubtless against popular opinion.
Step into authority
One thing that is often needed is determination. This is somewhat similar to persistence but it is also deciding that something is going to happen. Sometimes when I am using Matrix Energetics, I feel to ask ‘What would Richard Bartlett do?’. The answer is often something like the word ‘change’, spoken as a command and immediately instigating positive change.
Imagine versus do
Richard Bartlett sometimes also often sees the desired result and the current state and holds his focus on the desired result until that becomes the new reality. This is not the same as visualising or imagining something. The subconscious may not know the difference between something vividly imagined and something which actually happened but that does not usually produce this level of change in the present moment.
Some Chi Gung systems utilise visualisation a lot but other systems require the practitioner to actually make subtle internal changes. Chi Gung master Bruce Kumar Frantzis made this vivid by suggesting people just imagine using the bathroom next time they need to go!
The distinction can be subtle but also vital.
"…"saw" and felt myself as John of God. Without hesitation, in my mind’s eye I inserted John’s surgical clamp right up the man’s nose and into his brain, just as I had seen in the video. Note, I didn’t say that I imagined it, that would not be enough." Richard Bartlett in Matrix Energetics, P79
Stop trying, keep practising
"You can practise to be a master or you can be a master practising".
When we are practising to be a master our self doubts lead us to try. When we are masters practising, we can allow, persist and do what’s needed.
