I recently came across this interesting article - ‘The "Millennials" are coming’ - about the new generation of graduates. This generation has really gotten that we are all, ultimately, working for ourselves and that what they want matters. Their upbringing, like the English public school system, is proving extremely effective for some ("the best workers ever") and a lot less effective for others. (more…)

Ever since I realised that trances do not come from hypnotic suggestion, but arise naturally, from consciousness itself, I have been exploring how to make better use of them, especially as an adjunct to playing in the powerful field of Matrix Energetics. (Richard Bartlett, founder of Matrix Energetics, studied with Richard Bandler). (more…)

Much has been written about the power of intention but the road to hell is paved with good intentions. Part of the difference that makes the difference, with and without intention, is the quality and effectiveness of our attention, because the effectiveness of our response to life, ourselves, others, possibilities, potential pointers or help etc, depends on what we notice or pay attention to. 1. Have deeper experiences so know what seeking
Many of us know that being in our hearts leads to a more satisfying experience of life and individually and collectively, we sorely need the feminine, but most of us have only superficial experiences and few, if any, role models of either. The result is that, rather than embodying something radically different and virtually unknown in our culture, we are somewhat less in our heads and somewhat less masculine. If we are to bring these true and distinct alternatives back to this planet, we need first to experience what we are seeking and returning to. The best way to do this is in the company of the few people who embody the divine feminine, such as Amma. (more…)

Trying begets grasping
When we think we need to try, we sometimes try too hard, in an attempt to grasp something, understand it intellectually or ‘get it right’, all of which can obstruct the flow or process.
"…when you try, you operate from your mind. Let yourself shift into a different mode of consciousness, and allow ’something else’ to happen. … Grasping is the nature of the mind" Samuel Sagan in Awakening the Third Eye (more…)

Connecting with others is very important to me and yet, I often feel shy. Here are some thoughts that have helped me.
Everyone feels shy at time
When we feel grief we are allowing a part of us to honour something we have lost. When we feel shy, we allow sensitive and intimate parts of ourselves to be honoured. This is natural and beautiful, part of the richness of life experience. Those people who never feel shy may have other ways to do this or they may have no awareness of those parts of themselves. Over recent generations, we have tended to set ourselves apart from the groups we are born into (tribe, community, extended family, nuclear family) and aimed to be more distinct as individuals. This has expanded possibilities for many of us but not without costs, such as isolation and stress. From an historical perspective, we may not live in hard times, but we do tend to be hardened, which, for some of us, is unsatisfying. It may also have effects on our world that make it unsustainable.
